Peterborough, ON – With profound respect and gratitude, Baker Tilly KDN announces the retirement of long-time partner Diane Clark after more than 30 years of service in the accounting profession. Throughout her career, she provided entrepreneurial services to small- and medium-sized businesses in many sectors including retail and medical, with a focus on tax.
Growing up in Peterborough, her accounting career began at a large firm in Kingston, Ontario after graduating from Queen’s University School of Business with an honours Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1981. She obtained her Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 1983.
Clark returned to Peterborough in 1985 to join Morrison & Hollingsworth Chartered Accountants, becoming partner in 1999. After a merger in 2009, she became a partner at BT KDN’s Peterborough office (Collins Barrow Kawarthas at the time).
She also enjoyed giving back to her community by lending her financial expertise through volunteer work with organizations including Northminster United Church and the Women’s Business Network of Peterborough.
“Diane embodied the essence of being an excellent partner in a public accounting firm,” says fellow BT KDN partner Steve Porter. “She always looked after her client’s priorities in a timely manner, while being a mentor to, and very supportive of, her fellow partners and staff members. Diane’s dedication to doing a thorough and effective job – and the success she had doing this – provides a leadership example to all and is a testament to her lasting impact on our firm.”
