Baker Tilly in Victoria promotes two new Principals as firm growth continues

Victoria, B.C. – Baker Tilly is proud to announce two of its valued staff, Jonathan Gehrts and Stephen Leaver, have been promoted to Principal.

Gehrts is an important member of the firm’s large U.S. Tax practice, which is the fastest-growing department at Baker Tilly in Victoria. He has played an important role in the expansion of the practice and will continue to do so, working closely with the head of the department, Shawn Strandberg.

As a public practice leader with a focus on personal and corporate tax issues, Leaver is now principal at the firm’s newest office in Sidney. With a growing number of clients in that location, he will help address the increased demand alongside Sidney’s other Principal, Robyn Walle.

“Stephen is a jack of all trades. He has extensive experience with small businesses and deep knowledge of Canadian tax. He also practices in our U.S. Tax department and has strong working relationships with staff and clients,” says managing partner Bill Camden. “Jon is a team leader with tremendous expertise in U.S. tax and is well liked by all those he works with, clients and staff alike. He knows how to handle any U.S. tax situation.”
