COVID-19: Tax Season Update

Mar 20, 2020

We once again hope that you and your loved ones are all staying well during these trying times.

As has been announced, the Government of Canada has extended the individual tax filing deadline from April 30 to June 1.

At Baker Tilly, we are proceeding along with business as usual whenever possible in order to meet your needs. Our goal is to adhere to the original April 30th deadline as best we can. For taxes owing, regardless of when we file your return, you are still able to benefit from deferring payment until August 31st, 2020.

We would ask that you still bring us the information required to do your personal tax return as soon as you can. Please remember that we are asking for all information be provided electronically to the extent possible. Please reach out to your Manager or Partner to discuss which electronic option works best for you or alternative ways to get us the information if needed.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your Partner or Manager.
