Biography

Mike graduated from the University of Ottawa with his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Accounting in 1999. Mike obtained his CA designation in 2000, followed by his U.S. CPA (Illinois) designation in 2005 and further expanded his expertise by completing the CICA In-Depth Tax Course in 2006. Previously a Principal with the Firm, Mike became a partner in 2013 and was appointed Managing Partner in 2021.

During the first fourteen years of his career, Mike held progressively senior roles at a Big Four accounting firm, specializing in cross-border tax matters, particularly for employees on temporary international assignments, with a focus on Canada and the United States. Today, he oversees the firm’s cross-border tax practice, providing cross-border income tax advice to both individuals and corporations. Mike also delivers a range of tax, wealth, retirement, and financial management planning services, supported by his deep understanding of the cross-border implications of financial planning.

When he's not in the office, Mike can often be found at a local hockey rink coaching or cheering on his four children. When time permits and the sun is shining, he enjoys a round of golf with good friends. Mike is also a long-time participant and top fundraiser for the 100 Holes of Hope Golf Marathon, a local charity event supporting Cystic Fibrosis Canada, The Ottawa Hospital Foundation, and the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health.
