Ontario Small Business Support Grant
The Ontario Small Business Support Grant will help small businesses required to close or significantly restrict services under the Provincewide Shutdown effective December 26, 2020.
Funding available
A minimum of $10,000 and up to $20,000 to help cover a decline in revenue expected from the Provincewide Shutdown.Â
Eligibility
Eligible small businesses include corporations, unincorporated businesses (sole proprietors), partnerships, charities and non-profits. To be eligible, a small business must have:
- Been required to close or significantly restrict services under the Provincewide Shutdown. A full list of eligible sectors is available in the application guide, which can be accessed when you apply.
- Less than 100 total (full-time and part-time) employeesÂ
- Experienced a revenue decline of at least 20% when comparing monthly revenues for April 2020 to April 2019. For small businesses not in operation in April 2019 or April 2020, there are options to use other comparable periods.
Ineligible businesses
Ineligible businesses include essential businesses permitted to operate with capacity restrictions. This includes supermarkets, convenience stores, pharmacies, and beer, wine and liquor stores.
Property Tax and Energy Bill Rebate
Funding available
100% of the cost of at least one electricity and one natural gas bill. A rebate for property tax is also available.Â
Eligibility
All small businesses that qualify for the Ontario Small Business Support Grant are eligible. Other businesses may also be eligible, provided they were required to close or significantly restrict services under the Provincewide Shutdown effective December 26, 2020.
