Our response to COVID-19

Scott Dupuis Mar 18, 2020

To our valued clients,

As each day passes, our communities, our country and our world are facing unprecedented challenges to keep our people and our businesses healthy.

The COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak is growing daily. Its impact on our day-to-day lives is quickly going beyond what most thought would occur in this short of a timeframe.

This is a time for all of us to show leadership and action to help to make our communities, our workplaces and our families as healthy and safe as possible.

This includes commitment to the basics, expanded use of technologies and adherence to quarantine safety measures.

The basics are more than simply maintaining maximum hygiene practices. They also include frequent cleaning and sanitizing, eliminating non-essential travel, avoiding large meetings and full commitment to social distancing.

Baker Tilly Canada has made significant investment in recent years in technology options to allow for video conferencing, file sharing and remote collaboration. Our team of professionals can easily work from home and maintain our social networks and workflow. We can, and will, stay in close touch with our clients to help you work through your business challenges. To ensure your organization is prepared and complying with health and safety regulations, we encourage you to read our latest People Solutions Alert.

During this difficult time, we are asking our clients to please understand and comply with the following guidelines:

  1. We ask that only clients who have pre-scheduled appointments come in to the office. Please do not simply ‘drop in’ as we work to limit gatherings as per Health officials’ directives.

  2. If you are attending our office in person:
DO NOT attend if you are experiencing a cough, fever or difficulty breathing;

DO NOT attend if you have travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days or have come into contact with someone that has
  1. We strongly encourage clients to utilize the option of video/teleconference or email whenever possible instead of attending our office in person.

  2. We ask that clients dropping off records use the mailbox in the entrance of our building or scan and email the information to windsor@bakertilly.ca. The mailbox is monitored hourly.

Finally, adherence to quarantine safety measures is critical. We are encouraging our clients and employees who are symptomatic, not feeling well or have had possible exposure to the virus to refrain from entering public places. Educating our teams and supporting self-quarantine measures is a must for all of us.

At Baker Tilly Canada, we are doing our best to keep clients, visitors and employees healthy and safe in the workplace while also minimizing the disruptions to our day-to-day operations.

Our tagline at Baker Tilly is “Now, for tomorrow.” Today, that means more than ever.

Stay the course – commit to social distancing.

Please contact us if you have questions or would like to discuss your account. Our commitment to service excellence remains steadfast.

Sincerely,
