BT Ottawa announces leadership transition

Ottawa, ON – Baker Tilly Ottawa is pleased to announce Mike Hayward will assume the role of the firm’s managing partner as Kenneth Tammadge transitions to retirement in January 2021.

Joining the firm more than 40 years ago, Tammadge has been managing partner since 2012. A recognized and lauded senior accounting and business leader, Tammadge’s commitment to service excellence has been unwavering. He was elected to Fellowship in 2013, the highest designation conferred by the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, and was inducted into the Order of Ottawa in 2019.

Tammadge also served on BT Canada’s Management Committee and was a driving force behind the network’s firm recruitment initiatives. He leaves not only an incredible legacy of professional leadership, but also a rich tradition of uplifting the broader Ottawa business community – a commitment shared by Hayward. “Going above and beyond for our clients and our city is something we deeply believe in, and I look forward to carrying on Ken’s vision of shared success and purposeful contribution,” says Hayward.

As a partner at the firm since 2013, Hayward’s experience and skill sets make him a perfect fit for the role. Hayward has deep experience in a number of tax, wealth, retirement and financial management planning services, with the added benefit of understanding the impact of such planning in a cross-border context, as he is one of the leaders of BT Canada’s U.S. Tax Committee.

“It has been an honour to lead this firm and I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished as a team,” says Tammadge, whose guidance and support will not end with his retirement. “I have the utmost confidence in Mike to take us on the next leg of our journey and continue to position our team and our clients for success.”
