Toronto, ON – Baker Tilly WM is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Paul Schmidt to chief operating officer (COO). Schmidt’s in-depth industry knowledge and strategic leadership skills truly inspire a shared vision at the firm – a dedication to service excellence that is augmented by the synergy between the Toronto and Vancouver offices.
Joining the firm in 1990, Schmidt gained extensive experience providing assurance and advisory services to clients in various sectors, including specialized winery audits for the BC Liquor Distribution Branch. His responsibilities further included overseeing all facets of the firm's information technology (IT) operations, ranging from user support and education to technology consulting to clients. In 1998, he was promoted to manager of the firm's IT group, then to partner in 2003.
