Biography

A graduate of University of Waterloo, Stephanie Gates joined Baker Tilly KDN's predecessor firm as a co-op student in 2005. Becoming a full-time employee in 2009, she joined the partnership in 2018. In 2009, she wrote the Uniform Final Exam for Chartered Accountants and earned a spot on the Honour Roll for placing in the top 50 in Canada and top 20 in Ontario out of more than 3,000 successful writers that year. Continuing her education, Stephanie completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax program in 2015.

Beginning her career auditing in the municipal and non-profit group, Stephanie switched to the commercial enterprises group to provide assurance, accounting and tax advisory services to small and medium sized, owner-managed businesses.

For Stephanie, the best part of public accounting is assisting business owners by developing relationships, providing quality professional advice and earning the role as their trusted advisor for accounting, tax and other business decisions.
