Biography

Jia graduated from the University of Ottawa with her Bachelor of Commerce in 2007. She obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 2010. Previously a Principal at the firm, Jia joined the partnership in 2024.

Jia has practiced public accounting in the Assurance and Accounting Services Group of Baker Tilly Ottawa LLP since 2007. Her experience includes the planning, supervision, preparation and review of audit and accounting engagements as well as the associated corporate tax filing requirements for a wide variety of clients including hi-tech companies, manufacturing companies, consulting companies and not-for-profit organizations.

Jia enjoys working with her clients and providing them practical advice on assurance, accounting, internal control procedures, strategic planning, and general business strategies. She ensures that financial statements are prepared in accordance with Canadian generally accepted accounting principals and that tax minimization and deferral is achieved where possible.

Jia speaks both English and Chinese (Mandarin).
