Andrea Fernandes CPA CGA

Biography

Andrea Fernandes has more than 20 years’ experience in finance and accounting. During her years working for major multi-national corporations and most recently in private practice, Andrea has focused on continuous improvement initiatives, looking to optimize efficiencies and find innovative ways to bring greater value to clients.

A York University alumna, Andrea holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree as well as a Certified Professional Accountant, Certified General Accountant designation.

Andrea joined the firm in 2022 as senior vice president, small business services, leading the firm’s BT Advantage service line, collaborating with teams across the Baker Tilly Canada network to further develop the program, putting a focus on cloud technology, financial expertise, and industry insight. Her exceptional leadership, financial acumen, and a deep commitment to the Firm’s success made her the perfect fit as our Chief Financial & Operating Officer, the role she transitioned to in 2025.

An active member of her community, she is a former accounting and tax professor at Durham College and treasurer of Anxiety Canada. In her spare time, while not shuttling her kids around to their various activities, she enjoys travelling with her husband, home renovations, reading, skiing, and camping.
