Your role 

  • Assisting with the preparation and review of various Canadian income tax returns (T1, T2, T3 and T5013 returns) and tax election forms.
  • Providing assistance to Partners and Managers on tax planning assignments.
  • Participate in special engagements.
  • Research tax issues and prepare memoranda.
  • Liaising with tax authorities on audits and requests for information.
  • Preparing and presenting technical sessions for staff.

What you bring to the table  

  • Previous experience in a public accounting firm.
  • A professional designation.
  • A commitment to learning in a tax environment.
  • Research, analytical and problem identification skills
  • Good technical knowledge of GAAP requirements for tax provisions.
  • Computer skills including Caseware and Taxprep.
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment including organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting time lines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines.
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
