Your role: 

  • Supervision of staff while preparing corporate groups, consisting of a variety of audit, review, and compilations.

  • Preparation of compilation, review and audit engagements of increased complexity.

  • Preparation of corporate, personal and trust income tax returns

  • Preparation of tax slips (T3, T4, T5, etc.)

  • Identifying and resolving engagement issues.

  • Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships.

  • Direct field work, inform Manager(s) of the engagement status.

  • Strong technical audit, accounting and tax skills

  • Demonstrates initiative in understanding process flows and controls. 

  • Assists with training and onboarding of new staff accountants and CPA/Co-op students.

  • Mentors junior staff and provides feedback for improvement

  • Developing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships

  • Strong commitment to professional client service excellence.

  • Collaborating to ensure we provide an integrated financial and business solution that meets our clients' needs

What you bring to the table: 

  • University degree in commerce or accounting

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience at public accounting firm

  • 3 years of audit and assurance experience, preferably ASPE, NPO audit experience is an asset

  • CPA designated

  • Strong knowledge of CaseWare, Caseview, Taxprep, QuickBooks Online, Simply Accounting

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong critical thinking skills, and ability to take ownership and problem solve

  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines, which can be conflicting with one another

  • A high attention to detail and accuracy

  • A positive attitude and willingness to work and learn

  • A desire to be an integral part of a fun team environment

We are currently hiring for our offices in Cobourg and Courtice, Ontario.

Job type: 

Full-time

Salary range: $75,000 - $95,000 a year

The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will be based on a combination of factors including relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market alignment.
