Your role:
- Providing assistance to clients with bookkeeping tasks including recording transactions, reconciling bank accounts, preparing HST returns and reporting results to management
- Participating in the efficient preparation and completion of working papers, financial statements, and corporate tax returns for compilation engagements, according to firm and regulatory standards for clients in various businesses
- Effective preparation and completion of tax assignments, including preparation of tax returns (T1, T2, HST), and to ensure queries are cleared and deadlines are met
- Preparation of trust returns (T3)
What you bring to the table:
- A college or university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- A minimum 2 years experience in public accounting or a similar finance role preferred
- Proven technical abilities in preparing compilation engagements, and corporate and personal income tax returns
- Tech savvy; proven technical skills in accounting and tax
- Accounting, tax, and software knowledge, i.e.: Tax Prep, CaseWare, Sage and QuickBooks Online. Any prior experience with these programs is an asset
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong time-management abilities and self-motivation to work independently in a high-volume work environment
- Ability to detect and solve problems
- A passion for client service
- A willingness to continually expand one’s professional skill set, take on additional responsibilities as required and respond to and thrive in a dynamic work environment
- Candidates must be flexible to work overtime during peak business periods

Job type:
Permanent, Full-time
Your schedule:
Monday to Friday, with OT hours expected during busy season
Salary range: $50,000 – $65,000
