Your role:
- Entry and reconciliation of cyclical bookkeeping for clients (e.g. payables, receivables, bank statements, credit card statements and journal entries)
- Basic accounting tasks including preparation and analysis of general ledgers and monthly financial statements, calculation of fixed assets and depreciation as well as preparation of other statistical, financial, and accounting reports
- Generate scheduled and ad-hoc reports for clients or internal management
- Complete historical bookkeeping clean‑up by reviewing, restructuring, and correcting client financial records to restore accuracy and ensure compliance. (e.g. identifying and resolving miscoded transactions, reconciling aged or unreconciled bank and credit card accounts, clearing suspense items, organizing source documents, rebuilding ledgers, and correcting prior‑period entries)
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for cloud accounting system testing and data validation prior to go-live dates for client onboarding
- Identify opportunities to streamline internal processes and implement automation where possible (includes process mapping and documentation)
- Lead client onboarding and system training
- Respond to client inquiries and support troubleshooting
- Identify and mitigate risk and any potential system constraints; develop sustainable workarounds as needed
- May assist with preparing and processing non-complex payroll for clients
What you bring to the table:
- Diploma in Accounting is an asset
- Proven experience of 5+ years as a Bookkeeper in cloud accounting systems
- Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) designation an asset
- QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor certification is an asset
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, organizational skills, and sound judgement
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients
- Knowledge of process documentation
- Business project management experience is an asset
- Experience with any products from our optimized tech stack is a bonus:
- QuickBooks Online
- Xero
- Dext
- Hubdoc
- Plooto
- Wagepoint
- Double (previously Keeper)
