We are looking for a Co-op Student to join our US/Cross Border Tax team—a role where your expertise will drive meaningful outcomes and your ambition will help shape what comes next. Your role:
- Prepare Cross-Border (US and Canadian) individual income tax returns;
- Participate in an in-depth, in-house, Cross-Border tax training “boot-camp” to equip you with the specialized skills to prepare Cross-Border tax returns;
- Collaborate with and support team members in providing excellent client service;
- Build and nurture strong working relationships with staff, partners and clients;
- Participate in special projects as assigned by partner or senior staff.
What you bring to the table:
- Working towards or completion of a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (Accounting major preferred)
- Working towards completion of pre-requisite courses for the CPA PEP
- Familiarity with basic accounting concepts (balance sheet, income statement, etc.)
- You are an excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills
- Have an interest in accounting and tax work
- Be a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and keen attention to detail
- You have strong interpersonal skills and are an excellent problem solver
- You are proficient in, and willing to learn various computer applications.
- Knowledge of Caseware/Caseview and TaxPrep is an asset (but not required)
