We are looking for a Client Accounting Specialist to join our Advantage group. Our Advantage group is dedicated to guiding and supporting small and midsized enterprises to peak business performance. As a trusted advisor, you’ll use cutting-edge technology to deliver a full suite of services, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, financial reporting and payroll administration.

Your role:
- Perform full cycle accounting services utilizing cloud applications such as QBO or Xero;
- Assist with completion of payroll functions.
- Prepare basic T4 returns.
- Prepare month-end close procedures including reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards and ensuring transactions are properly journalized.
- Assist with government filings such as sales tax returns and payroll filings.
- Prepare monthly and/or quarterly financial reports and management reports.
- Collaborate with clients on a regular basis and assist them with day-to-day accounting inquires.
- Communicate issues to manager and collaborate on resolutions.
What you bring to the table:
- At least 1 year of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in a professional services setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, enrolment in the CPA program an asset.
- 1-2 years’ experience in the use of relevant computerized and cloud-based financial accounting systems.
- Intermediate to high level proficiency with MS Excel, Xero, and QuickBooks Online.
- Knowledge and understanding of ASPE.
- Knowledge and understanding of HST rules.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
