Your role:
- Assisting in the preparation and filing of indirect tax returns (HST, QST, PST) under the guidance of senior team members.
- Gathering and organizing financial data to support tax compliance and reporting.
- Conducting preliminary research on indirect tax issues and summarizing findings for review.
- Supporting the team during tax audits by compiling documentation and responding to basic information requests.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely submission of tax filings.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure client deliverables are met on time.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with tax authorities and internal teams.
What you bring to the table:
- Up to 2 years of experience in Canadian tax, including co-op or internship experience with indirect tax experience being an asset.
- A strong willingness to learn and develop technical tax knowledge.
- Solid analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a basic understanding of accounting or tax software.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- A degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field (or in progress).
- Interest in pursuing a CPA designation or other relevant professional certification.
