The Women's Business Network of Ottawa has announced that Tracey Pagé, a Certified General Accountant and a Principal, with Collins Barrow Ottawa LLP has been selected as a finalist for the Businesswoman of the Year Awards, in the Professional Category. A Gala will be held on April 29th at the Hampton Inn to announce the winners.
The awards, now in their 27th year of being presented, will honor women from across the city recognizing the accomplishments of those who live, work and play an active role in a business within the National Capital Region. Finalists are selected based on their proven business acumen, outstanding leadership skills, exemplary community involvement and the demonstration of a balanced lifestyle, as well as notable achievements in their area of expertise.
Tracey attributes her success in business to a well rounded life, which balances work, community and family. Born and raised locally, she received her Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree from the University of Ottawa and immediately started working with the firm. More than 20 years later, Tracey is still with Collins Barrow where she is now a Principal, the leader of the firm's Retail and Franchise Industry Group and sits on the firm's staffing committee.
A supporter of young accountants, she credits her path to success to strong mentoring. Today, she gives back, by mentoring the firm's younger employees providing guidance and exposure to business decisions and encouraging them to get involved with professional and community associations for career and personal growth.
In the community, Tracey is a founding member of the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County's Walk for Memories and has sat as either chair or active member of the organizing board annually ever since. Over its 15 years, she has seen the event grow and today it is one of the Society's largest fundraising initiatives raising almost $2,000,000 to date.
