Raising a family while raising the bar; clarity with perspective

Mar 9, 2015

From March 6-19, Collins Barrow is highlighting the excellence and achievements of several women who strive towards creating value; breaking equality barriers and empowering others.

International Women’s Day celebrates the women who make it happen all around the world. Our women make it happen every day. Collins Barrow believes in a workplace environment that fosters the careers of Canadian women. Over the past 20 years, the accounting industry has seen a positive shift in the attitudes towards female advancement. At Collins Barrow, we already have a higher percentage of women partners than the industry norm—and growing. Meet Sue.

Sue has been bringing clarity to clients in the Collingwood area for the past 26 years. Providing assurance services to municipal clients, private ski clubs and medical professionals, she guides them all to success by delivering the key insights that provide opportunities for discovering fresh ways of driving value. Sue joined the CB network in 2014 and was an honoured recipient of the ICAO award of Distinction in 2006—an award that recognizes CA’s under 40 who have made a significant impact on their profession and community.

As an active and Charter member of the Rotary Club of Collingwood South Georgian Bay and Treasurer of the Rotary club’s charitable foundation, Sue is able to give back locally and globally and takes particular interest in the PolioPlus and Back to School programs that help kids in developing countries.  She has also been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters at both the local and provincial levels.  Through her outstanding charitable commitments, Sue is able to meet the kids who benefit from the programs in small, every day ways.

“Collins Barrow is committed to providing solutions to clients at any stage of their development. Our women and ‎men have the first hand experience needed to deliver valued and effective advice to our clients in offices around the world, and I am proud to be among one of them.”

Did you know: If Sue could speak to one great woman in history, it would be Margaret Thatcher. She would ask her what advice she has for up and coming professionals and thank her for paving the way for successful women around the world.
