Dartmouth, NS – An accomplished industry veteran with 27 years of leadership at Baker Tilly Nova Scotia, Grant Galbraith is stepping down from his duties at the firm to take on an expanded role as chair of Baker Tilly Canada’s Board of Directors.

Galbraith has spent the past 14 years as managing partner at BT Nova Scotia, where he led technology innovation and change management for both the firm and the Canadian network. He also provided advisory services to a broad range of businesses in industries such as manufacturing, information technology, professional practices and financial services.

Partner Todd King fondly reflects on Galbraith’s tenure at BT Nova Scotia, specifically the guidance he provided to so many of his colleagues. “Grant has served as a mentor to me and many other members of our team,” he explains. “His knowledge of our profession is vast, and he has always been generous in sharing his insight on a wide array of subjects, both professional and personal. Clients and colleagues alike have benefitted from his wisdom, and he leaves behind a legacy of visionary leadership.”

In his role as board chair, Galbraith has helped the Canadian network usher in a new era of growth, evolution and enhanced service delivery, championing a bold vision for the future. Under his leadership, the group of independent firms also took on the name and visual brand of its global network to become Baker Tilly Canada, while each still retaining their independence and entrepreneurial spirit.

Galbraith’s exclusive focus on this national role will allow him to become even more active in strategic initiatives in the coming months. Most recently, this included the process of selecting the Microsoft cloud and accounting360 as the network’s next generation practice management platform.

“My 27 years at Baker Tilly Nova Scotia has been a time of enormous growth, and the firm is in an excellent position to continue thriving in the future,” says Galbraith. “While this departure will be difficult, I couldn’t be more excited to concentrate on our network’s ambitious plans for the future – in 2021 and beyond. We will continue accelerating Baker Tilly Canada’s growth trajectory through strategic expansion, international connections and innovative technology.”
