On Sunday, October 6, 2019, Team Baker Tilly WM LLP took part in the annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure event and held an in-office fundraiser to benefit the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
The CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5 KM or 1 KM walk or run that supports the breast cancer cause at the Canadian Cancer Society. With close to 60 events across the country, this inspirational fundraiser is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada.
The weather was perfect for Sunday’s event and our team comprising of Annabelle, Brittney, Chris, Corbin, Sandy and Scott joined 85,000 other participants for the 5km run/walk. With the funds raised at this annual event, the foundation is able to invest in ground-breaking breast cancer research, such as improving screening technology, developing new and targeted treatments, and discovering how to reduce the rate of recurrence.
We are honoured to take part in such a great cause and look forward to participating again as a team next year!
