Staff from the Collins Barrow Halifax office recently continued their history of community giving by spending some time at Ronald McDonald House Atlantic. The group volunteered their time and resources to prepare meals for families in-residence over the course of two different days.
Ronald McDonald House Atlantic provides a "home-away-from-home" for seriously ill and disabled children and their families during their stay at the IWK Children's Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Up to eighteen families can be housed at the site each night. While residents can make their own meals daily, the House welcomes corporate and community members to prepare dinner on a set schedule throughout the year or as a one-time event.
Partner Mark Marshall has served on the Board of Directors for the past ten years and helped introduce the opportunity to the rest of the Halifax staff who were enthusiastic about volunteering their time. All felt a great sense of pride to help offer some comfort and a hearty meal for families in crisis.
