Collins Barrow and Darcy Tucker launch second giveaway of MasterCard Memorial Cup campaign

May 10, 2016

Red Deer, AB – As a proud Local Pillar Partner sponsor of the 2016 MasterCard Memorial Cup, Collins Barrow is kicking off the second giveaway of its ‘Be A Challenger’ campaign, along with three-time MasterCard Memorial Cup winner and former NHL player, Darcy Tucker.

This phase of the ‘Be A Challenger’ program – which celebrates junior hockey challengers – will reward hockey fans with prizes signed by Tucker. One lucky winner will take home a piece of hockey history – autographed hockey gloves worn by Tucker to the 2014 Winter Classic when he played with the Toronto Maple Leafs, helping to defeat the Detroit Red Wings. Three additional winners will claim signed Toronto Maple Leafs jerseys. Hockey fans can enter the contest, which runs May 9-25, 2016, at beachallenger.ca. Full contest rules are available on the site.

“We launched ‘Be A Challenger’ to celebrate the determination of Canadian hockey players, and more broadly, those who embody a ‘challenger’ mindset,” said Rob Kolton, Collins Barrow National Marketing Liaison. “This new phase of the campaign and our involvement with the MasterCard Memorial Cup honours the tenacity and commitment the game of hockey fosters, as well as connects fellow challengers on and off the ice.”

“As we draw closer to the final tournament, it’s amazing to be a part of the Memorial Cup momentum again,” said Tucker. “For fans, memorabilia is a chance to show they are part of the hockey community; it’s a way to celebrate their pride in the team and their love of the sport.”

The ‘Be A Challenger’ campaign features inspirational videos with Tucker, playoff game ticket giveaways and on-site activities at the MasterCard Memorial Cup in Red Deer, including guest appearances by Tucker at Fan Fest.

Tucker and Collins Barrow will also be visiting Ronald McDonald House Charities® Central Alberta. Families at the charity’s Red Deer House will have the chance to meet with Tucker, and Collins Barrow will send one lucky family to the final game on May 29.
