Yorkton, SK – With much admiration and gratitude, Baker Tilly SK announces the retirement of respected CEO Rick Kozachenko.
His long history with the firm began in 1979 when he joined the team as a junior accountant, eventually graduating to partner in 1993. Serving as BT SK’s managing partner and IT partner, Kozachenko was responsible for overseeing and implementing the firm’s strategies and goals.
He was also the partner in charge of tax for the Yorkton office. Drawing on his strong interest in the tax issues affecting owner-managed businesses, he performed a wide range of tax planning services for small- and medium-sized businesses. Clients also drew on his vast knowledge of the challenges facing small business and farm business operations.
Leading up to Kozachenko’s retirement, Darcy Spilchen slowly transitioned into the CEO role, in order to maximize continuity and minimize disruption. He acknowledges the high bar set by his predecessor and the importance of his influence in the firm’s work going forward.
“Rick has made an enormous contribution to Baker Tilly SK, particularly while steering our firm’s strategic direction as CEO,” says Spilchen. “He has a unique understanding of the challenges small businesses and agribusinesses face, which has served our clients well during his tenure.
