Ottawa, ON – Baker Tilly Ottawa is pleased to partner with law firm Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) and RBC Royal Bank to present the 13th annual, and first-ever virtual, Not-for-Profit Sector LAB (Law, Accounting and Banking) Update on Nov. 26.

Organized to provide a comprehensive update on recent legal, accounting and banking changes and issues affecting not-for-profit organizations and charities, this year’s theme is “Surviving the Ever-Changing World” and will feature experts discussing corporate law, employment, cybersecurity, remote work and more.

“BLG is thrilled to join forces with Baker Tilly and RBC on the LAB Update this fall,” says Sylvie Lalonde, counsel at BLG. “Baker Tilly and RBC have an impressive presence in the not-for-profit sector. Their respective strengths in audit, tax, advisory services, banking, financial and investment services align well with BLG’s own legal expertise and experience. As this program enters into its 13th year, we look forward to this unique educational offering for our clients.”

This year’s virtual event will have no entrance fee as it will be online, making it much more accessible. “This is a great opportunity for our firm to synergize with our partners in other sectors and discuss the issues that transcend our respective specialties,” says Benoit Groulx, partner at Baker Tilly Ottawa. “The pandemic has made this annual event more important than ever, and we look forward to providing guidance to Canadian organizations as they navigate a new reality rife with unpredictability to ensure they are well positioned for the future.”
