Mark Mooney Nov 5, 2021

Cobourg, ON – With great admiration and gratitude, Baker Tilly KDN LLP (BT KDN) announces the retirement of Sharron Wharram-Spry after more than 30 years in the accounting industry.

Wharram-Spry has deep roots in Northumberland, launching her career in the family business, Wharram Tree Service Limited. After receiving her chartered accountant designation in 1993, she joined the firm of Langhorne Irwin Wharram-Spry LLP and became a partner in 1996. She joined BT KDN’s Cobourg office as a partner in 2019.

Throughout her career, Wharram-Spry never lost sight of a connection to her community. An avid volunteer and community leader, she has served on a number of boards, including the Rotary Club of Cobourg and the Cobourg Public Library. She also put her fundraising and financial expertise to work on committees to help bring community projects to life, including the Northumberland Hospice Centre as well as the Cobourg Community Centre where she helped raise more than $2 million towards the project. In addition, she was one of the founding members and chairperson of Habitat for Humanity Northumberland. Wharram-Spry currently serves on the Film Access Northumberland committee – an organization promoting community understanding through the art of film.

“Sharron’s vast experience, knowledge and caring allowed her to provide exceptional service to her clients,” says BT KDN managing partner Mark Mooney. “Always committed to the growth of the Cobourg office and the firm in general, she is appreciated for her energy and business acumen.”
