Mark Mooney Scott Sonley Jan 22, 2020

Peterborough, ON – Baker Tilly KDN expresses its sincere gratitude to retiring partner Brad Huggins, former valuations leader for both the Peterborough and Lindsay offices, and is pleased to appoint Scott Sonley, vice president of Litigation Accounting and Valuation Services at Baker Tilly KDN Consulting Inc., to leader of valuation services for all four KDN offices (Peterborough, Lindsay, Courtice and Cobourg).

As a partner in the Emerging Business group, Huggins oversaw services provided to owner-managed, family business clients. Additionally, he led valuations at the firm for the past decade, supporting clients with sales/purchases and estate/tax matters.

The impact Huggins had throughout his illustrious career is evident in the high level of service he provided. “We work so closely with our clients they often become like family,” says Huggins. “I always relished the opportunity to find new avenues for them to reach their business objectives – all while building meaningful relationships.”

“Brad has been a leader on our team and a critical component to our firm’s development for more than a decade,” says Baker Tilly KDN managing partner Mark Mooney. “He leaves behind a legacy of valuable contributions, including positioning the next generation of partners for success. We wish him the very best in his retirement and next adventure.”

“As we look forward to continuing to build great futures with our clients, we are excited to expand Scott’s leadership role,” Mooney adds. “We have every confidence he will continue the tradition of service excellence, bringing clients solutions that are increasingly innovative and future-focused.”

Throughout his career, Sonley has developed long-standing relationships with clients in the Durham area who rely on him for his broad experience in accounting, assurance and taxation – with a specialization in valuation and litigation support services. Sonley has assumed his broader role with the firm effective Jan. 1.
