On March 22nd Premier MacNeil declared a State of Emergency in Nova Scotia. One of the overriding objectives of this declaration is to limit the amount of social interactions to support social distancing.
In support of this, effective March 23rd our office will be closed to the public. We will continue to meet with our clients and colleagues electronically and it is our expectation that the closure of the office to the public will have minimal impact on service delivery.
At Baker Tilly, we are committed to working with all Canadians to Flatten the Curve in all of our communities.
Our firm, and our families, are fully committed to physical distancing but, we also want to remain social with our clients, co-workers and our friends.
Our team at Baker Tilly will stay social and interact regularly and continuously with our clients and friends. All of the technologies needed are in place to allow us to maintain physical distancing while still working closely with you.
Our top priority is the safety and well being of our communities. To participate in this global effort to Flatten the Curve, effective immediately we have two significant changes being implemented regarding meetings and paper-flow.
Face-to-face meetings
We will immediately be replacing all face-to-face meeting with video conferencing, phone calls or Teams Chats. If you have a meeting already scheduled, we will be in touch to reschedule with the technology that best suits you.
Paper flow & other documentation
To the extent possible, we are asking all clients to share all documentation and other materials with us digitally. We have secure procedures to move confidential information digitally. If you are not set up in our ShareFile site for transfers to and from us, or if you are having trouble with passwords, please call the office for help to get this sorted out.
You can also visit our website and use the following electronic features on our Welcome page:

We recognize that some information will still need to be dropped off. The office continues to be open and we will accept information into a drop box. Any information received will be set aside for 2 days for quarantine purposes and will then be reviewed and distributed to the appropriate people.
If you have been out of the country or in any large gatherings, please self quarantine for the required 14 days.
Most of our Baker Tilly team are now working remotely and will continue to work closely with you to meet all deadlines as usual. They are as social as always and look forward to continued commitment to meeting your professional service needs.
We hope that you, your families, your colleagues and your businesses remain safe and healthy as this all unfolds.
If you have any questions about this or any other matter, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
