On Friday, December 13, 2019, Baker Tilly WM held its 3rd consecutive A Day of Giving event. As a part of this firm-wide initiative, over 125 of our staff in Vancouver and Toronto participated in group volunteering activities at various charitable and community organizations within our respective communities.
Our volunteers assisted with various tasks including:
- Serving meals to those in need at the Belkin House and First United Church
- Gathering bins of toys and food for Daily Bread Food Bank
- Helping with various tasks at the women’s shelter
- Toy distribution/sorting for kids and families at the Christmas Bureau and Salvation Army
- Preparing backpacks filled with essential items for homeless youths at Directions Youth Services
- And many more.
In this year’s A Day of Giving event, we were pleased to lend a helping hand to these worthwhile organizations: BC Children’s Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society, Covenant House, Daily Bread Food Bank, Directions Youth Services, Downtown Eastside Women’s Shelter, Epilepsy Toronto, First United Church, Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau and The Salvation Army (Belkin House and Boundless).
The organizations were very appreciative of the contribution and efforts of the Baker Tilly WM volunteers. Likewise, staff at Baker Tilly WM found the experience rewarding and a wonderful opportunity to give back to our communities.
Baker Tilly WM is committed to developing a strong internal culture of philanthropy and in addition to A Day of Giving, the firm’s internal Community Services Group organizes various group volunteering activities and fundraisers throughout the year.
