Vancouver, B.C. – Baker Tilly WM is pleased to announce its union with two firms, Ameritax Consulting Ltd. and Telford Associates, welcoming new partners Doug Lindsay (from Ameritax) and D. Wilson Telford (from Telford), along with their clients. This latest merger represents Baker Tilly WM’s continued focus on strategic growth and addressing evolving client needs.
With more than three decades of U.S. personal tax experience focused on IRS compliance filings, Lindsay has served clients throughout B.C. and Western Canada from the Ameritax offices since 1994. He brings technical and leadership strength to the firm’s Tax group and will continue the Ameritax and BT WM commitment to providing personal, relationship-based client service. As an IRS Certifying Acceptance Agent, his expertise in this area complements the expanding needs of BT WM’s diverse cross-border clients.
“This is an important step forward for our practice,” explains managing partner Paul Websdale. “The addition of Doug and Ameritax represents further growth of our U.S. personal tax service offerings, and this closely aligns with our core values and commitment to providing exceptional cross-border tax services.”
“Joining Baker Tilly is a natural step for us as we look to build on our strengths and serve clients’ holistic business needs,” explains Lindsay. “We are aligned in our values and dedication to great relationships, and together will continue to grow our reputation in the market for cross-border tax excellence.”
The firm’s other new acquisition is Telford Associates, which was co-founded by new BT WM partner D. Wilson Telford in 2013. With more than 20 years of experience, he specializes in providing accounting, audit, tax and business advisory services.
“Our clients have always expected the best from us,” says Telford. “Now we can deliver even more as part of Baker Tilly, whose established expertise, resources and reach across Canada and internationally provide a new level of opportunity.”
“Over the past nine years, Wilson has built a successful practice focused on small- to medium-sized businesses,” explains Websdale. “He brings an in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of sectors – including manufacturing, hospitality, wholesale, retail, construction and real estate and professional services – to our firm, further elevating our ability to serve clients’ evolving business needs.”
