Tom Hamilton-Piercy CFA

Biography

Tom is a director at Baker Tilly Canada Capital Corporation (previously Renaissance Mergers & Acquisitions). An experienced corporate finance and investment professional, he specializes in M&A, private equity, mezzanine finance and corporate development. Prior to joining BTCCF, Tom worked with Baker Tilly Capital in the United States on buy- and sell-side engagements for transportation, industrial, retail, cleantech, software, food, pharmaceutical and biotech sector clients. Deals he worked on typically ranged from $10 to $500 million USD. Tom also worked as a valuation specialist with Baker Tilly US, providing strong analytical approaches to client files.

Prior to working with Baker Tilly US, Tom was an operator of a web development and marketing firm for nearly 10 years. This perspective of being an owner/operator has proven to be a unique benefit when working with entrepreneurs.

Further, Tom was employed with TD Securities for several years working as an Institutional Equity and Bond trader. His experience and knowledge of public equity and debt markets continues to offer benefits to clients.

Tom has held the CFA designation since 2007. He majored in Finance, minored in Business Law at Concordia University, graduating in 1999.

To make his country a better place, Tom gets involved wherever he can. Tom is the President of Pierrefonds Community Project, which provides services to underprivileged, immigrant and low-income families in Montreal. He also works as a volunteer with a number of Members of Parliament
