Biography

As an expert in valuation/tax matters, Roland Lefort has over 35 years of extensive and varied experience in public accounting. Roland has a vast educational background completing the following designations: CGA (1983); CICA In-depth Tax Course (1989); CBV (1994); CA (1997) and CFP (1997). Having lent his knowledge and expertise to several national firms such as Collins Barrow and KPMG, Roland’s ardour and fervour were central to his success in the accounting world.

In 1997, Roland established his own firm in the heart of Northern Ontario, providing practical business accounting solutions to the Timmins community. Offering notable accounting and tax services, Roland has helped countless professionals with mergers and acquisitions, as well as business valuations. He has assisted clients in providing a variety of specialized services including: valuations of business interest with regards to matrimonial disputes, shareholder disputes, corporate reorganizations and divestitures, negotiations, and identifying potential purchasers and vendors.

In late 2015, Roland merged his firm with Baker Tilly SNT. The transformational partnership has created new growth opportunities and allowed the Timmins office to provide a range of national and international accounting, tax and advisory services to Northern Ontario communities. As partner of the Timmins office, Roland is enthusiastic about the prospect of creating a compelling new blueprint for the future.

Roland and his wife, Joanne, have four adult daughters. Every Sunday evening, they enjoy their traditional family dinner together. Outside the practice of accounting, Rolly enjoys his Friday night gatherings with friends, time on the golf course, travelling and reading biographies.
