Biography

Luther VanGilst is Partner at Baker Tilly REO’s Winchester office who draws on his background in agriculture to provide expert service to his clients.

Luther grew up on a dairy farm and enjoys applying his experience in accounting and agriculture to a range of client engagements. Luther joined Baker Tilly REO in 2012 after earning his Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialty in accounting from Carleton University. Luther also holds an associate diploma in agriculture from the University of Guelph, and has completed an in-depth tax course through CPA Canada.

His favourite part of his work is facilitating successful transfers of farm businesses to the next generation.

“I want to help families find the most efficient way to address succession so they can focus on their farms instead of worrying about tax implications.”

He is valued by his colleagues for his deep commitment to everything he takes on. Luther was recognized in 2016 with the North Dundas Rotary Club Pride of Workmanship Award. Outside of work, you can find Luther cycling throughout eastern Ontario.
