Biography

Joel joined Baker Tilly WM LLP in 2018 as Director of Professional Standards and was admitted as a Partner in 2020. He is dedicated to execution of quality performance across the firm. Prior to joining the firm, Joel provided specialist financial reporting to international public companies in the mining industry, following over a decade focused on public company reporting and advisory services at a large regional professional services firm based in Vancouver, and tenure as a senior manager with Canada’s national audit regulator.

Joel has over 20 years of experience across the professional services, industry, and regulatory sectors.  He has provided transaction advisory and continuous disclosure expertise to companies listed on the NYSE, Nasdaq, TSX, and TSX-V exchanges, for mining projects in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Burkina Faso, and Mongolia.

Joel obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2000, and holds a Diploma of Technology – Advanced Accounting (Honours) from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
