Biography

Known for her approachable and hands-on leadership style, Joanne works closely with a diverse group of clients—including individuals, family-owned businesses, corporations, professionals, and not-for-profit organizations. Her initiative and clarity have earned her the respect and appreciation of clients, particularly for her ability to communicate financial results and represent the work of Baker Tilly SNT effectively.

Joanne also guides her staff in their professional development, ensuring they consistently deliver high-quality accounting, tax, and business advisory services. Her expertise spans a broad range of industries, and her commitment to client success and business growth is central to her professional approach.

Joanne is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) who also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). With over 3 decades of experience, she has established herself as a respected leader and mentor in the accounting field.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Joanne places high value on spending time with her family. She enjoys boating, camping, attending live events, and finding quiet moments at home.

Professional, community and social affiliations

Joanne is deeply committed to her community. She is currently serving her third term on the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, where she holds the position of Vice Chair and chairs the Advocacy Committee. Her previous roles include serving as Treasurer for the Chamber and as the current Treasurer of BPW Ontario. Joanne has also been President of both BPW Greater Sudbury and the Sudbury Community Foundation, demonstrating her dedication to local initiatives.

In addition to her community involvement, Joanne has contributed to the education of future professionals by teaching accounting courses part-time at Cambrian College and Laurentian University.
