Joanne Haagsma CPA CMA

Biography

Joanne’s keen interest in business and accounting led her to pursue an accounting career, and she earned her Certified Management Accounting Designation in 1992. After working as a CMA in industry in the Kitchener area for 8 years, she relocated to Dorchester. Her change in location was followed by a change in accounting focus to public practice, where she continues to work with clients to provide strategies to minimize tax and promote financial success on a corporate and personal level.

In 2006 she joined Bart DeVries to form Haagsma DeVries Accountants in Dorchester, Ontario, and their firm grew steadily. The firm provided services to owner-managed corporations, farms, construction companies and personal tax clients. After 9 years, this firm joined EPR Trillium LLP, which has allowed them to grow their services while still offering the same level of personalized service and tax expertise. In 2019 EPRT rebranded to form Baker Tilly Trillium following a merger with several other Baker Tilly associated firms in Southwestern Ontario.

Joanne continues to update her skills by attending tax and accounting courses, and also volunteers her accounting services for several not-for-profit organizations. She enjoys reading, cycling, and lively family conversation at the dinner table.
