Biography

Janet Foster is a partner at Baker Tilly REO with extensive experience in financial planning and a strong drive to help her clients succeed.

Janet joined the firm in 1998 and has played a key role in the firm’s growth ever since. She launched the firm’s Carleton Place office in 2000, then became a partner 2008. She loves working with owner-managed businesses to support all facets of their work, from bookkeeping and accounting to consulting and financial planning.

Janet is most keen to ensure that her clients see her as a trusted business advisor, not just someone who handles the books at year-end. She encourages clients to reach out throughout the year, especially if something new or usual is happening in the business.

In addition to her CPA and CA designations, Janet holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a designation in accounting from the University of Ottawa, and she is a certified financial planner.

When she’s not working, Janet is busy outdoors, doing some combination of kayaking, hiking, running, or camping. She successfully walked the 198-km Camino trail, and she ran the 2500th anniversary of the first marathon in Greece all decked out in company clothing. Janet works from Baker Tilley REO’s Carleton Place office and also oversees operations in Cobden.
