Biography

Dave has a broad range of experience managing Canadian corporate, personal, and trust taxation compliance and planning requirements for both private and public companies. He has more than 24 years of experience in public accounting, with 19 years specifically focused on tax practice. Dave’s current focus includes advising on owner-managed corporations, investment holding companies, and trusts and estates, including for high-net-worth individuals.

After joining Baker Tilly Nova Scotia’s predecessor firm in 2015, Dave was promoted to partner in 2017. Additionally, Dave spent two and a half years working in industry as the director of taxation for a large privately held corporate group specializing in real estate and investments. As a regular lecturer on taxation in CPANS’ professional development program, Dave enjoys teaching and has completed all three levels of the CICA’s In-Depth Tax Program.

Outside of work, Dave’s interests include golf, baseball, music, and politics. He lives in Halifax with his family.
