Biography

Curtis joined Baker Tilly in 2014, bringing deep expertise in assurance, accounting, tax, and advisory services. He specializes in tax compliance, financial reporting, and business consulting, with a strong focus on the engineering, procurement, and construction sectors, as well as professional services.

As a leader within the Construction group, Curtis has contributed to firm-wide quality initiatives, including serving on the standards committee and overseeing quality control processes. Elevated to Partner in October 2025, he now drives strategic growth and advisory initiatives in the construction and real estate space.

Before joining Baker Tilly, Curtis worked with an Edmonton-based accounting firm, where he managed client advisory engagements. He earned his CA designation in 2013 after successfully completing the UFE in 2012. A proud University of Lethbridge graduate (BBA, Accounting & Finance, 2009), Curtis credits his entrepreneurial roots in Rocky Mountain House, AB—where his family’s restaurant sparked his passion for business—for shaping his client-first approach and strategic mindset.

Based in Calgary since 2014, Curtis enjoys weekends in the Rockies skiing, hiking, and exploring parks with his wife and two young boys. Outside of work, he writes a contrarian/deep-value investment blog and closely follows financial markets. Having recently completed Upstream’s Emergency Leaders Academy, Curtis remains committed to continuous learning and helping clients build resilience and seize opportunities.
