BTCCF shares expertise at Business Transitions Forum

Mar 16, 2022

Vancouver, B.C. – Baker Tilly Canada Captial (BTCC) is proud to sponsor the 2022 Business Transitions Forum (BTF), a series of events that provides valuable guidance for businesses as they approach transitions of all kinds. BTCC will also participate in three of this year’s events, beginning in Calgary on April 5 and continuing in Toronto on May 4 and Edmonton on May 11.

More than 40 entrepreneurs and industry experts will share guidance and anecdotes during this series, shedding light on companies that have been successfully sold. Attendees can glean insights to apply to their own transition strategy – whether they’re just beginning to consider the possibilities or well into negotiations.

During the Calgary event, BTCC CEO and managing director Mike McIsaac will participate in “Strategies to Negotiate the Best Deal & Terms,” a panel exploring the many ways a negotiation can unfold. Panelists will discuss best practices, industry myths and misconceptions, as well as alternatives to consider when structuring a transaction for a fair price. In addition, John Sinclair, managing partner for Baker Tilly WM in Toronto, will present at the May 4 event.

“The Business Transitions Forum is a great way to bring together industry experts, while providing a platform to share ideas and perspectives,” explains BTCC managing director Axel Christiansen. “Even the most stable businesses must always consider the potential for transition, and this is a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs to benefit from valuable insight.”

Since 2015, thousands of entrepreneurs have attended BTF in major centres across Canada to facilitate their own transition, whether it be an outright sale to a third party, a management buyout or a family transition scenario.
