What’s your background?
I actually started working in industry before moving into professional services, which is not the typical evolution. I worked in accounting and finance groups in both the service and manufacturing sectors, and I also had a brief stint in the public sector. I have now been in Canadian corporate tax for approximately 12 years.

What keeps you busy outside the office?
Family, home, love of exercise and reading.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment?
The relationships I have built and the experiences I have accumulated since the beginning of my career.

What advice would you give someone starting a career in your field?
Seek out that sweet spot where you are both good at something and enjoy doing it.

What are the qualities that make Baker Tilly Windsor unique?
We offer clients a small-town team feel, but our services have global reach.

How would you describe your contribution to Baker Tilly Windsor?
The area of tax I focus on serves primarily an international tax base. We help international clients navigate all matters of Canadian tax so they can focus on their business.

If you weren’t in your current job, what profession would you pursue?
Most likely something in the arts. In particular, I love all things fashion and design.

What does “Now, for tomorrow” (Baker Tilly’s mantra) mean to you?
We make a conscious investment in our clients and their businesses now, so we are in a good position to identify and act on opportunities tomorrow.

What does the future hold for you and your profession?
One of the great things about tax is there is always so much to learn and so many opportunities for growth. I will continue to work hard to hone my craft and be open to whatever the future holds.
