Baker Tilly International to separate member firms in Russia and Belarus

Baker Tilly Canada's global network, Baker Tilly International, released the following statement on March 16, 2022:  

Baker Tilly International has announced we will separate member firms in Russia and Belarus from our global network. This decision is a direct consequence of the actions of these governments, and not the individuals of these countries.

Baker Tilly International firms will not serve government clients or state-owned enterprises of Russia or Belarus, or sanctioned entities and individuals.

Separating from firms in Russia and Belarus will understandably take some time. As we begin this process, we pledge to do right by our colleagues and our clients to mitigate the impact of this transition.

We remain focused on the safety and wellbeing of our team members and their families in Ukraine. We are mobilising financial and logistical support to ease their suffering, and we are continuing to raise critical funds for organisations providing direct humanitarian aid.

Our hearts are with the people of Ukraine, and we join the world in the hope for peace.
