Biography

As Chief Financial Officer of Baker Tilly Dartmouth, Greg MacDonald is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial strategy, planning, and financial operations for the firm. He plays a critical role in advising the executive team, optimizing internal processes, and ensuring sustainable financial performance. Greg also supports practice leaders with business planning, financial modeling, and performance measurement to enhance client service delivery and firm profitability.

Greg brings over 15 years of progressive leadership experience in both public accounting and industry. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), he began his career in assurance and advisory services before moving into corporate roles at High Liner Foods and Bell Aliant. He later served as CFO of True North Psychological Services, where he managed the finances of multiple operating entities and led several complex transactions, including seven acquisitions, two divestitures, and a strategic merger. 

Throughout his career, Greg has built a reputation for combining rigorous financial oversight with a pragmatic approach to growth. His leadership has spanned multiple sectors including professional services, healthcare, research, consumer goods, and telecommunications. He excels at building scalable systems, fostering high-performing teams, and aligning finance with organizational strategy.

Greg holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University and is committed to continuous professional development. He is also active in mentorship and community initiatives that support youth development.
