Baker Tilly serves as advisor in leisure sector business acquisition
Vancouver, BC – Baker Tilly is pleased to announce Besties Management Partners Inc. (“BMP”) has successfully acquired Arctic Spas Kitchener (“Arctic Spas”). The transaction closed in June 2025, with Baker Tilly acting as exclusive financial advisor to BMP.
Founded in 2012, the Ontario-based Arctic Spas specializes in the sale and service of premium hot tubs and accessories. Owned by James R. Becker and Siu Ying Poon, this business has grown from a single showroom in Kitchener to include locations in London and Princeton.
Also based in Ontario, BMP is a private company owned by Dan Stronks and Robert Knight. With a growing presence in this province and beyond, BMP’s acquisition will enable Arctic Spas to expand its market reach and access additional capital to drive growth. Likewise, the acquisition represents a significant strategic addition to BMP’s robust portfolio of manufacturing and retail businesses.
“This transaction reflects the disciplined, growth-oriented investment strategy Dan and Robert have consistently pursued,” says Baker Tilly director Cameron Atkinson. “Our team conducted financial and tax due diligence to support their acquisition of Arctic Spas, a well-established business with strong regional presence, and we’re proud to have played a role in positioning both parties for long-term success.”
Commenting on the acquisition, BMP’s Stronks notes, “We are delighted to continue the legacy James and Siu have built at Arctic Spas, and we are committed to supporting the next chapter of growth for the business. We’re also grateful to Baker Tilly for its guidance throughout this process. Their expertise was instrumental in helping us navigate the transaction and setting us up for future success.”
As part of this transaction, Gowling WLG (Canada) served as legal counsel to BMP.
