Your role:

The People & Culture Generalist is a versatile Human Resources professional who delivers broad support across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, compliance, and engagement. The role combines strategic thinking with hands‑on execution to foster a positive culture and ensure legislative compliance. They partner with leaders and the People & Culture Director to execute people plans that strengthen workforce planning, development, compliance, and culture. They coach managers on effective performance conversations, team development, and values‑based leadership, while supporting change initiatives through coordinated communications, training, and adoption activities.

They lead key people programs—such as performance management, compensation, succession, and secondments—and continuously improve processes for fairness, clarity, and efficiency. They manage complex employee relations matters, ensuring consistent policy application, compliance, and balanced decision‑making. Using people insights, they analyze trends, develop dashboards, and provide data‑informed recommendations to leaders. They work collaboratively across P&C and other functions, contribute to team initiatives, mentor junior staff, and help ensure consistent, high‑quality employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for all roles including campus recruitment and CPA pipeline roles.

  • Support interview coordination, offer preparation, background checks, and onboarding.

  • Prepare offer letters and oversee onboarding activities, including orientation sessions.

  • Deliver a consistent and engaging onboarding experience for new hires.

Employee Relations

  • Act as the first point of contact for Human Resources inquiries.

  • Provide guidance on policy interpretation, performance management, and conflict resolution.

Compliance & Policy

  • Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS systems.

  • Ensure adherence to provincial and federal employment laws.

  • Assist in policy development and implementation.

  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends for continuous improvement

Engagement & Culture

  • Lead engagement initiatives to support morale, retention, and connection.

  • Analyze engagement feedback and partner with leaders on targeted action plans.

  • Monitor key people metrics and support well‑being and psychological safety initiatives. 

HR Projects

  • Participate in cross-functional HR projects, including training and development programs.

  • Prepare HR metrics and reports for leadership.

 Performance Management

  • Support performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and development planning.

  • Assist with training coordination, learning programs, and professional development initiatives.

  • Support managers with performance documentation and employee development conversations.

Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support

  • Lead employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.

  • Support compensation processes, including salary reviews, promotions, and role changes.

  • Liaise with payroll to ensure accurate employee data and timely processing.

What you bring to the table:

  • Collaborative, curious, and innovative, with a strong people‑centered mindset.

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience across multiple functions.

  • Strong business acumen, experience in professional services or public practice is an asset.

  • Proven people leadership experience, including performance management and team development.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.

  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills in fast‑paced environments.

  • Trusted advisor to leaders, with a track record of driving change, improving processes, and leading cross‑functional initiatives.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong work ethic and attention to detail.

  • Post‑secondary education required; HR designations (e.g., CHRP/CPHR) considered strong assets.

  • Solid knowledge of employment legislation and best practices in talent acquisition, retention, and performance development.

  • Experience with HRIS systems; knowledge of BambooHR is an asset.

Job type: Full-time

Your schedule: Monday to Friday

Working Conditions: You will be expected to work in an office environment in a hybrid work model. During peak periods, there might be a requirement to work overtime to meet project deadlines and support team needs.
