Over the past 20 years, the accounting industry has seen a positive shift in the attitudes towards female advancement. At Collins Barrow, we already have a higher percentage of women partners than the industry norm—and growing. Meet Leanne.
Leanne has been advising owner managed and entrepreneurial businesses in the areas of accounting and tax for over a decade. A trailblazer in her early career, Leanne was named to both the national and Dzurko honour rolls as one of the top 60 graduates in the country and top 11 in Alberta upon obtaining her CA designation. These academic achievements combined with her proven track record of providing actionable advice led Leanne to make one of the four women partners at Collins Barrow Red Deer LLP during a time where women accounted for half of Collins Barrow partner representation in the Red Deer Region.
Leanne is active in her community as both a participant and sponsor of local events with organizations like the Red Deer Hospice, Red Deer College, Canadian Cancer Society and Big Brothers and Sisters. Her tax knowledge led Leanne to become the banking director for the 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, where her expertise was able to affect change on a national scale.
