The partners and staff of Collins Barrow are pleased to announce that The Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) has appointed Maruf Raza (Collins Barrow Toronto - downtown office) to its IFRS Discussion Group (IDG) http://www.acsbcanada.org/international-activities/ifrs/item30196.aspx .
The purpose of the AcSB's new IFRS Discussion Group is to assist in identifying issues arising and relating to the application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) in Canada. The appointees are made up of a highly respected roster of financial and accounting professionals from industry, regulating bodies and chartered accounting firms.
This appointment recognizes both Maruf's and Collins Barrow's in-depth knowledge of IFRSs and the challenges that the application of IFRSs are creating in Canadian financial reporting.
