Victoria, BC – Collins Barrow Victoria principal Todd Troyer is proud to participate in the 15th Annual Schmirler Foundation Telethon on Sunday, February 21. The foundation raises funds to purchase life-saving equipment for Newborn Intensive Care Units (NICU) across Canada. Founded in honour of Sandra Schmirler (a three-time world curling champion and Olympic gold medalist who passed away in 2000) the foundation has raised and contributed $3.2 million to 40 NICUs across Canada in the past fifteen years.
Participating in his third telethon live at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts on TSN2/RDS2, Todd Troyer is the Schmirler Foundation’s treasurer. “I am extremely happy to continue my involvement with the Schmirler Foundation Telethon,” Todd explained. “Last year’s telethon raised over $300,000 and we hope to exceed that amount this weekend, providing even more support to Hospital Foundations and Newborn Intensive Care Units across Canada.”
Contributions can be made online or by calling the toll-free number (1.866.210.6011) on Sunday from 10:30 AM EST to 11:30 PM EST. Todd will be answering the phones, alongside Sandra’s daughters Sarah and Jenna, two-time World Curling Champion Marilyn Bodogh, and professional curlers Lisa Weagle and Emma Miskew.
