Biography
Howard is a director at Baker Tilly Canada Capital Corporation (previously Renaissance Mergers & Acquisitions). An experienced corporate finance and investment professional, he specializes in M&A, private equity, mezzanine finance and corporate development. Prior to joining BTCCF, Howard worked in Toronto and Vancouver on buy- and sell-side engagements for industrial, energy, technology, food, transportation, real estate development and financial sector clients. Deals he worked on typically ranged from seven to nine figures and were as large as USD $1 billion.
Howard is able to provide clients the lens of a professional investor, given his equities portfolio management experience. He endeavours to put all his buy- and sell-side experience to work, helping business owners monetize their life’s work so they can create the legacies they have always envisioned for themselves and their families.
Howard has held the CFA designation since 2007. He double-majored in business administration and economics at Simon Fraser University, where he graduated with first class honours. To stay sharp, he lectures at the University of British Columbia’s CFA exam preparation program on topics of corporate finance, equities, fixed income and economics.
Professional, community and social affiliations
To make his city a better place, he serves his community. Howard sits on the board of Working Gear Clothing Society, which provides work-related clothing to low income, unemployed men and women of the Lower Mainland. He and his wife founded The Eyeglasses Project Association, which provides pro-bono eye exams and free, brand new, prescription eyeglasses to disadvantaged families and underprivileged Vancouverites.
